Komopastre... traditional, Hua Hin Textiles
Khomapastr is Hua Hin’s elegant contribution to Thai textiles. Traditional Thai and bold contemporary designs are hand-printed onto high-quality cotton. Khomapastr was developed in Hua Hin in the 1940’s by his Royal Highness Prince Bovoradej.
The Prince was keenly interested in textiles. He conducted extensive research
into traditional Thai designs, and worked with a group of design specialists to develop the processes to screen-print these designs onto cotton fabrics.
Their signature design became the ‘Lai Pa Kio’ or the gold handprint used on garments worn by the Royal Family and dignitaries.
Khomapastr fabrics are available from the royal descendents (Khomapastre Fabrics) as well as several other local textiles shops.
